Apprentice- Well, Tarek is finally gone. It was great eye candy but not the best team player. Actually, none of them seem to be team players. Does anyone have a favorite? I don't know. I still don't know why Andrea who is already a multi-millionaire would apply for it....American Idol- Everyone had a good song and a bad one. I have never enjoyed the rocker types and have to say that Chris's first song last night was great. Paris is my last remaining favorite but I think she is the one going tonight since she's had poor vote results many weeks. My prediction for final two is now Chris and Taylor with Katharine as the 3rd.Amazing Race and Lost are tonight.Kate

I was a bit disappointed in Carolyn too, but, she may well NOT remember Pepi.  He was fired in Week 2 and Carolyn wasn't on that week - it was the first Ivanka week.  So the only time Carolyn had to see Pepi was the first week and I'm sure the full boat of candidates is just as overwhelming to them as it is to us the first week.

I was not impressed with Lee's choice of team.  Sean is darn lucky that Tammy was good since he seemed to be more impressed with his attraction to her.

I always liked Michael and Roxanne too.

I have to admit that I totally forgot about The Apprentice over the holiday. However, I caught a repeat of it last night. I think Michael and Roxanne would have been good finalists. It will be interesting to see how Lee and Sean do. I was disappointed to see even Caroline sort of ridiculing the choice of Pepe and not remembering him Turns out he had a great idea about getting matching funds from Pontiac and Lee didn't pick up on it or run with it.

Well I finally got to see the Apprentice late on tuesday night... thank goodness all of my other shows had finished or my VCR would have been overloaded .. I did tape 3 days of my DOOL and am now caught up

You guys have me so confused with Lost I am almost glad I dont watch that show.. I do NOT think I will even start with the new show... Last comic standing or what ever its called... my brain needs a rest and I can now catch up on some other shows that were on same time as my favs.. and get some book reading on my porch done!

Re: Apprentice:   Now that I have seen the start of the final task... I am not sure I would llike to see either one win... Lee seems way over his head with his youth and attitude...  Sean is a bit cocky with his win the girl win the job mentality... I think some who were already voted off would have been better choices.... me thinks that the Donald knows when he starts who he will chose... does he get to see the behind the scenes senarios with things like Lee's bad attitude about the woman who is in charge of the fund raiser for his group..? OK so Pontiac has donated 4 cars for auction... there were so many other avenues both teams could go  into to raise money... like behind the scenes action... outings etc with the celebrities and I am sure others here have some better ideas than what Lee and Sean came up with...& My question is ..that is if one of his assistants (Andrea?) gets sick .. couldnt he ask for a replacement?

I had a feeling "Fenry" was a leader if not THE leader. Hmmmmmmm

LOL, it would have to be the "bad" Santa then and all of his "bad" elves.

Just my theory...Michael and Walt do get away and somehow hook up with Desmonds girlfriend where Michael is overcome with guilt and confesses what he did and where Desmond is??? Just a thought. I have lots of thoughts that don't pan out though.

I don't remember Jack treating David but I still think that Claire is his half sister. I/m going tohave to buy season 1 & 2 on DVD, too much to keep up with.

Sherry-

The quarantine door was laying kind of askew on top of the hatch with the ladder so it probably wouldn't have taken a lot to make it fly off.  I'm sure something happened in their but what?  Would Desmond have any chance at all?

What about Fake Henry being the "leader" of the Others.  Not HIM, but the leader.  Here's a question for you:  When Desmond first met Kelvin, Kelvin said "Are you him?"  Which him?  The replacement or the big leader?  I know he covered and said the replacement but was iffy.

I keep asking everyone if they remember Jack treating a "Dave" (or was it David) that died?  As in Libby's husband....

Will that dinky boat actually get away or does heading 325 lead him directly to wherever the Others really live?

And did you know that elves have 4 toes.  Wonder if that was humongous elf statue?

At work we have decided that the island is a Summer retreat for Santa (we decided that before this week) and now we have an elf.

Are you kidding Kate???? Of course I watched and WOW!

I hope the guys in the hatch are alive and just buried under the rubble of the explosion. I'm assuming it exploded since part of it fell from the sky.

It's going to be a long long summer waiting for the next season. LOL

So Libby is the one that gave Desmond the boat..hmmmmmmm.

Excellent finale.

I Ended up taping AI from about 8:30 on.  I was flipping between the Lost recap show and Idol and it was looking good so I ran to the bedroom and set up the VCR.  Haven't watched yet but every time there was a commercial (which means often) I got to flip and see others.

Lost?  No one watched Lost?

I think it was the best finale show of AI yet. You didn't even have to be an AI fan to enjoy all the acts and guest stars. Favorites of mine included Al Jareau and Dionne Warwick--she's still got that amazing voice--of course Burt Bacarach (sp?) is handsome and talented at any age--lol. I like Clay's new hairstyle and his voice is amazing as always. He's still responsible for my favorite Idol moments Although when Taylor took his "bad" original song and made it his own, I kind of got the old Clay chills towards the end of the song during the final competition. Kat's song was "bad" too---and she didn't rise to the occasion and make it better. Again--just my opinions

I'm glad Chris and Mandisa got such great audience support. I still think they'd have made great finalists. Oh, and Elliot too---so nice when his mom got to introduce him--she is in failing health I think.

I actually applauded when Taylor won And I was so glad they caught his dad crying real tears upon the announcement. We've had to see Kat's dad cry every week. (nothing wrong with that--it's just him) I wish Kat and Taylor (and the others) well and success too. Both are talented in different ways. It's like apples and oranges--both are great-imo- although different. I have started to wonder if Kat's mom being a vocal coach ended up hurting rather than helping her in the competition. I don't think Kat ever developed a sense of "Kat" that we could all enjoy.

Carrie Underwood--she's a real country star now imo I'm glad we got to hear her sing last night.

And Simon has to eat crow from the initial auditions---how great is that??????---lolol.

Kate re:  really don't feel like watching Idol, haven't even seen the results show for weeks except for those last 3 minutes..

Well I have been trying to watch the main show on Tuesdays.. you folks here got me hooked but also it is something that I can share with MLD.. who is a big fan... not often that Mother and daughter can find a common link.. But I must admit since I was watching so many other shows I would set a timer if home and watch the last 3 minutes of the result show.. once I even set my VCR for that last 5 minutes .. who needs all the commerials any way!

Must admit that the show had a great many BIG names on it... even hubby who could care not.. knew a bit about the show as that is all folks were talking about...

and I too hardly recognized Clay... only knew who he was cause they had to tell us :-))

Who was it that sang with Elliott?

How the heck are all you Lost fans managing to watch everything!

I'm watching Lost.  and taping it.  Hopefully I can stay awake until 11 or my coworker will be mad at me cause I won't be able to discuss with her and she's off Friday.

I really don't feel like watching Idol, haven't even seen the results show for weeks except for those last 3 minutes.  Let's face it, all the rest of the show is filler (or commercials).  I KNOW there is no way I won't know who won tomorrow.

Wish they had write in votes.  Then I could still hope that Mandisa can win?

Kate

PS Did anyone notice the times on these posts?  I did a quick check back last night and saw that Toni had posted at 8:14pm and I couldn't believe she would have posted during Idol.  Apparantly this server is not on DST.

I has started to watch that 3 part mini series 10.5 A... on channel NBC... with all the hype/worry lately it gave a new spin on worry:-(((.... Glad to hear that Carrie did so well :-)))

Thank goodness no shows on same time tonight... 8-10 for Idol then on to finale for Top Chef (Bravo) which is repeated back to back 10-11 ...11-12 in case anyone is interested.

I finally found how to catch up with the Sapranos.. at midnight last night.. and since nothing seems to be on Thursday night whewwwwwww I will be all caught up...before I head out for a 5 day vacation!

I think all (?--at least many of) the other top 10 finalists from this year were in the audience last night--plus a few from last year too. Chris and most of the viewers were surprised when he got voted off, but I didn't ever get the impression that he'd be angry or pout about it. Probably they all wished they'd made it to the finals and yet all wanted to be there to support their friends, practice for their part of tonight's show, and have some fun

We'll probably get to see lots of singing tonight. All of the top 10 will perform in group medleys where they get to be featured---if it's similar to last year. I think we'll see a few surprise famous guest stars too. Some will sing with the kids and maybe some will sing solos. I'm looking forward to the show

Last night at the Academy of Country Music Awards (being broadcast opposite AI last night) Carrie Underwood, last year's American Idol winner, won both New Single of the Year for "Jesus Take the Wheel" and Best New Female Vocalist Hooray for her!

Idol gossip.......... what hype..........

Who will win?... I am betting on Taylor even though I would never buy a CD of his.. his music is the kind I would enjoy once in awhile for a night out performance......... Cat voice is weak although I am sure they will coach her (but didnt she have coaching her entire life?).... her music/voice is one that I would put on a CD of to sit back and relax..

Will be interesting as they extended the voting time.. my VCR is set to go! 8-10pm

Psssssss I thought that Chris was a good sport to show up last night.. but he seemed uncomfortable to me... what the heck are they going to do for 2 hrs tonight

Apprentice---Sean can be overbearing, but I've never been a total Lee fan either--who am I gonna root for---oh dear--lol. I think Lee will win. Trump has liked him from the start imo.

American Idol just ended for the two finalists singing show. They were both good. I can't help it though--Taylor just makes people (me included) happy with his singing and I will be phoning to vote for him. Also, despite the fact that Kat sang well tonight and is an excellent singer, there were weeks in the season that I didn't think she deserved to make it through to the next round and as a result shouldn't even be in the finals so I'm sticking with the Soul Patrol and voting for Taylor I'm sure others think differently. Kat's got fans too

When Apprentice first started they stuck to the fire one each week.  Can't remember when they did the first double firing but remember it was a big shock.  Since then it's become more common to the point now where they are starting with more candidates but keeping the same number of shows - so they have to do multiple firings.

Worse is the fact that this season's candidates are as interesting as dishwater.  What a let down after last year's Randal vs Rebecca finale with two excellant candidates both of whom he wanted to hire.

Sean or Lee?  Lee or Sean?  Does anyone else find Sean as obnoxious as I do?

Apprentice----May 22 show....spoiler............................

..................................................
....................................
Trump is becoming predictable. I knew what he was going to do in the boardroom even before he fired both of the women. Now he's got Lee in the finals as could be expected. Whatever happened to firing people one by one depending on who was perceived to be most at fault for losing a task? I think Allie alone should have gone last night. If the "game" of a show has no rules or they aren't followed, it diminishes the show imo. I did like hearing Trump's kids talk to Lee and Sean about growing up "Trump" though. It sounds like he did a great job in instilling both a good work ethic and a good sense of economics with them.
