I'm assuming there was no chat party.  Even some of the old standbys don't  look at these boards any longer it seems.  I saw this post, but we were at a friend's party on Saturday so knew I would be unable to attend a chat.  And I'm an old standby who no longer chats, so I'm not complaining about people who don't post, just stating an obvious fact.  Things change---not saying that is good or bad--again it's just a truth.  We sure have some fun memories though:)

It will be Fall NEXT week.  Today it's winter--lol.  We went to the homecoming parade last night in the snowy wet precip---figured it couldn't be any more miserable than sitting at home in a house with no power.  We thought we'd be the only people there---no way--PSU fans are hardy--LOL.   We ate in town and were thrilled to walk back home and find that we had heat and light and that we hadn't fallen over any downed limbs still on the walkways.  What a mess!  But we feel fortunate compared to others here.

Great looking place.  It's nice that your hobby and volunteering result in such nice times up there.

Oh my!  I hope it clears up very quickly!

Must admit, I've not hit many yard sales or auctions this year!  Maybe I really do have my fill of stuff--lol.

Ron's link about yard sales near a specific location made me think of this site which lets you know about auctions near a specific location.  Most of the auctioneers in my area are part of this, so perhaps that's true nationwide.

I'm late, I'm late, I'm late as the white rabbit might say---but it's never too late to celebrate:)
Happy Birthday, Elaine!

Happy Birthday to ya:)

I am SO in favor of laws AGAINST things like this (the texts, cell phones, etc.).  I see people get in their cars in their driveway and start using their cell phones before they even leave their home for the day!  And, it's not just teens.  I guess like all the traffic laws, enforcement will be the difficult part of the equation.  But lets at least get the laws on the books!  I think PA failed to pass the cell phone ban:(((

about a mile on each side of the big show both sides of the highway are antique/junque dealers (the Nipper guy from NH is about 6 tents down from ours)

scott and i will prob run thru the main show so he can see the dealers that he knows personally who set up there

Does this mean that you have a dealer type tent set up this year?  Have you done anything like this before?  I know you've often gone to this show, but I always thought you were a buyer/attendee in the past.
If you are indeed selling this year, how do you like setting up in this type of marketplace?  Are people buying much?  Did you get any feedback on how this year's show is doing compared to last year's?

Thanks!!

Happy Birthday!
I hope you had a wonderful celebration with your family:)

Ten years--wow!  Time sure flies.  I credit the web interactive TIYH with being the catalyst for my learning so much about modern technology.  I've gone from someone who needed instructions on how to send an email to a person who helps with a local website and one who designs special cards, invitations and promotions for my family and for a local organization.  Oh, and then there's all the collectibles I bought because of that show--LOL.  I feel like I've forgotten some of the things I learned from back then and all the research it inspired me to do, but I also think I've gotten some darn nice stuff because of it.   We sure had fun back then, but life does march forward and I think most of us are still having full and fun lives and I'm glad that we still at least touch bases here.  Maybe someday there will be another catalyst that makes us all log on and participate more.  Maybe TIYH was ahead of its time--before many had computers.  Too bad it can't come back and try again!:)

I haven't slept in about one week.  I am numb.  I'm on Trazadone, and now Paxil too, and I still lie awake all night.  I wish I knew the answer.

I feel your pain, Nancy...maybe we should chat all night?

Chat all night?  LOL--that used to almost happen in a chat galaxy far far away and long ago.  I don't think I could ever do it again, but if I ever have insomnia, maybe I should peek in and see if you and Nancy are here.  Nancy's a great chat hostess and will probably be serving Italian food:)

I guess I've been typical---peeking in here--seeing nothing new and not posting.  So few of us post at all anymore.  That's kind of sad, but perhaps it means we all have lives on the outside that keep us busy and fulfilled:)  I hope that's it.
