I am cooking this year like I have done forever which I don't mind.
My kids and there partners are coming and of course my wonderfull Grandkids are coming which always is fun (They like to HELP) lol.
This Hoiliday season will be a bit rough for me as I lost my best friend my father last march.

A year ago my neighbor and I started a Neighborhood watch due to the rise in crime and vandalisim here.
In a year we have managed to clean up our area, most gang bangers have been run out and there is a lot less tagging going on.
It is a sad state of affairs what has happend to people and their neighborhoods.
One of our biggest problems here is what is called Section 8 houseing, this is low income could care less about the property or the neighborhood. Aurora now has a three strikes rule if there are 3 complaints about you you can be removed from Section 8 and the landlords who are absent can face up to a 1,000.00 fine per incedent.
Does anybody else belong to a Neighborhood watch program or have section 8 nhouseing around them I would love to hear from you.

Well we got dumped on the past 2 day's.
I have about 2 feet of snow in my yard, had to shovel a path for the dog.
It is nasty here blowing snow has caused many cars to slide of the highways I-70 has been closed for quite a while.
Today we get the wind and snow so wish us luck our power does not go out.

Winter is now here in Colorado..
Trail Ridge road is closed, 2 fatal accidents on ice covered roads and I sit here in long underware and layers of sweaters watching the snow fall.
Anybody ready for spring yet lol?

There has been some wacky weather all over the place.
It is supposed to be 72 today and 82 tomorrow.
This warm weather does not help those of us down with this icky flu.
I can't get the flu shots so I pray each year I will make it through it this year I didn't :(

Sorry I missed trivia last night but we just returned from a great vacation in St Louis however the trip ended on a rather bad note.
Monday night I was in the hospital with kidney stones something I have never had or ever want again.
You hear about people getting sick on vacations well now you realy do know one lol.
My poor Hubby and dog had to drive all the way back to Colorado while I took the easy way out
and flew home :)
I guess I am just not ment to go to St Louis (you all that were at the convention remember I got sick then too).
Well it is good to be home no matter what.

Funny this thread came up today...
My Hubby was on his way to work and watched a women cause a 4 car pile up because she was on the phone.
She squashed a motorcycle between her and another car causing a chain reaction.
As the motorcyclist got up he was screaming at the women who was STILL on the phone.
We have the hands free here to but nobody really abides by the law.
I can't count the number of times I have almost been hit by ADULTS not just kids texting or yapping on the phone.
What did people do before there were cell phones? Ahhhhhhhhhh for the good ole days.

Happy Anniversary to all of us that have been from basicaly the beginning.
TIYH was the first time I had ever used a computer (or really wanted to) and I remember my first time in chat everyone made me feel so welcome and I am like a bad peeny I just keep hanging around>
I want to also remember the good friends we have lost Mets, Grandpaford, FlamingoCarol, and so many others.
Lab and Dragon.... With out your tirelsees efforts we would not still be here playing trivia once a month. Sometimes that is the only time I get to see you all east coasters :)
To another 10 years may we still be here every first wednesday of the month.

Where did you find that beautifull quilt?
Is it machine made or hand stiched?
One day I will post pics of some of the quilts I have from my Grandmother made before there were sewing machines.
One of the quilts won 3rd at the state fair last year but it is so fragile that I did not enter it in the county fair this year.
