Hey, everyone.

It's Oct 29th and by now I would usually have posted about our annual Halloween costume chat.

Unfortuneately since hubby upgraded me to Internet Explorer 8 I can't get into the chat room.  I just sit on the first screen growing impatient while saying nasty things and making obscene gestures at the monitor.

Lab asked if I can get into AIMOO chat which I just tried and I can actually get in there.

So, I can't host the chat in our chat room.  Not sure anyone is even interested any more especially since it's Saturday this year but didn't want to let the day pass without at least mentioning the chat.

I guess I could come as  the white ghost for this year's event as you won't be able to see me against the background in the room.

Nancy-

So very sorry for your loss.  What wonderful memories you must have of your times with Kasey.

My husband upgraded my pc to IE 8 about a month ago and I can't get into chat anymore.  I just sit on the first screen.

And sit.

On vacation I used his laptop (also with IE 8) and it did the same but it did say there was a Java scripting error.

So, I wonder if anyone else has IE8 and can get it?????

Miss getting in

Julie, the link I posted is for the British PSA you saw.

CT has had the law for hands free only for at least 2 years but people are still on their phones driving all the time.  However, in the last few months the police have stepped up their efforts to give tickets for it.  Unfortuneately, it's like every other traffic law - if no one in authority sees it it doesn't do any good.

Saudi, I didn't expect you were going to say the motorcyclist lived much less jumped up and hollared at her.  Hope everyone else made it out okay too.

..... to text/talk on the phone/ read the paper/etc while driving?  Then watch this:

Maybe you've already seen this on TV news programs.  It's been playing the last few days and it is VERY HARD TO WATCH but the message is important.  It was made in Wales by the police to show to teens to warn against texting while driving.  If you are squeamish (and I am but I watched it anyway) you may choose NOT to watch.

Personally I don't text at all much less while driving, nor talk on the phone, put on makeup, shave, read the paper, use the computer, smoke while drinking coffee while speeding down the road, but I've seen people doing all of these at one time or another.

The father of a teen killed here in Conn is on a campaign to tighten laws regarding teen drivers.  He was interviewed the other day on the local station and made a statement that applies as much to anyone being distracted behind the wheel, not just teens, that basically said "you have to remember every time you are on the road you could be the victim of one of these drivers".........

I'm here too mostly doing the same peeking as TD.

Went on vaca middle of month and ended up with a roaring abcess in not one but two teeth so haven't felt great while the meds get rid of it (still working on that) and weekly trips to the endodondist for work on the two root canals.  Not to mention the vacation and sick time I used up.  Was pretty crabby whether in person or online.

Frankly, I've tried starting a post now and then and mostly people don't seem interested so I guess I've kind of given up.
