Lab (MLD) started in as a drafts person with auto cad back in the early '90's and now after 9/11 she has done computer work mostly with insurance companies... Temp work could be a problem as she needs medical insurance... so far unemployment has been great and she still qualifies for Cobra insurance... she may stll go back to school ..... her main set back is her fibromayalsia..
Lately we have heard that the Pickininny Arsenal is hiring big time... she is looking at that

We have a new tradition which will continue forever I hope :-)
MLD does the cooking at her home... she offered/insisted that she take
over 3 years ago.. I get the turkey deal at Shoprite.. in fact I buy most of the
food as she is still without a job.. I do the pies, onion dish, & sweet potatoes
at home to be re-heated... my son buys the beer and wine... hey it works for the
4 of us

Her home is a small open plan ranch .. so we eat in her kitchen at grandmas rock maple dining set and off of MLD Sasha B black and gold dishes that I bought her years ago on ebay... hope the weather is nice

we usually go to the Catskills on friday but those plans have been changed to another date!

I am cooking this year like I have done forever which I don't mind.
My kids and there partners are coming and of course my wonderfull Grandkids are coming which always is fun (They like to HELP) lol.
This Hoiliday season will be a bit rough for me as I lost my best friend my father last march.

We'll be going to my son's house which seems to be the designated party central.  Most of the attendees will be my DIL's family so it just makes sense.  She will cook the turkey that I get at work and everyone else will bring a dish.  We started a tradition when my granddaughter was born and that is to have a family photo shoot for pics to include with Christmas cards.  At first it was just us with the kids and then DIL's parents with them but now everyone has joined in and pics are taken of individual families and groups.  It's fun to look back and see how the adults have changed (or not!) and the kids have grown.

I thought one we retired the younger ones in the family would take over and make the dinner. Well last year it was a combined effort by them and me. And this year every one has to work So I get to go up on wednesday and cook and take care of my inlaws they are pretty much house bound now. Will cook dinner on thursday and head home  on Friday morning. We will have to take the dogs with us because they get so cold. But the cats will stay here with pleanty of food water and 2 clean litterboxes they will be fine on the back porch. They just don't travel well especially Munchie we tried it once and it did not work out. lol
