I think I read that this will be on HGTV tonight (Sunday).

Have y'all seen this site?

A yard sale near you.

Ron

I too noticed very few garage sales this year
Altho a neighbor's home is for sale and they had a few this summer
hubby bought me a great container for our deck
and my best buy was a huge Calif pottery 70's chip and dip dish for
MLD who collects such things  for $5

What I have noticed is that there are many more consignment shops
opening up in my area... will be trying a few more this week as
I bought a "brand new" lovely blue sueded shirt (Chicos)  for $8

could be the time of year...we made like 1500 bucks doing a sale in the spring...few weeks ago (ok it rained all day Sat but Sun was nice)  we were lucky to pull in 100 bucks and we had 3 huge tents full of all kinds of stuff

we hit one sale that was unbelievable good but alot for us are drivebys now if we see alot of clothes or kids stuff

Speaking of yard sales, how are they in your neighborhood?  I've noticed that there are fewer and fewer around here and those that remain are mostly junk or just clothes and toys, nothing collectible, just stuff that's been outgrown.  I would have thought that the poor economy would have produced more sales, but it seeems the opposite is true...at least around here.
